Mmm, Aish and Abhi..what can I write?

I have no comments about Bachan family and all. My knowledge in Hindi films and industry is very limited. Even now, I just watch only the hit and talked about movies, since I don’t follow Hindi movies.

So lets leave the topic of Bachan family and to be Daughter-in-law’s reputation.

I saw the picture of Aish sitting with the Bachan family in Varnasi, some pooja.

The first thing came to my mind is “Poor girl, she looks like she is trying hard to fit into the family. Why she is trying so hard. Either you are an ordinary, middle class girl or a superstar Miss universe, in our Country when it comes to marriage and in-laws, you gotta act like you are the goddess that clean and pure and try to adapt and do whatever your in-laws and hubby wishes you to do”. Maybe its me. Maybe Aish was not uncomfortable or anything. But hey that’s what I thought.

It’s the same old thing. You either get this or that, meaning either a good marriage or a good career. It goes for all Indian females. Good career in the sense, a career where you have freedom to do what you want to do, achieve. I dint hear anything that Aish will stop acting after marriage. But for sure She will start thinking about her reputation and she will choose her roles more carefully. You know, she has to worry about her reputation. Will Abhi think about Aish & her family, when he chooses his roles. Gee, I don’t think so. What can I say. Our pathetic lives.

Its not like, I love Aish or anything like that. I used to like her. That she is a beauty and she is well known in such a young age and all. But lately she really irritates me. In whatever movies I watched, the whole team will work for the movie and she alone will act like miss universe that she is. She doesn’t seem to be morphing in to her role at all.

Its like as if she thinks that, being Aish is good enough for the audience. Well, think again Aish. Aish is good to look at. But that’s all. If she opens her mouth and laughs or pretend to act or something like that, I really get irritated. Over hype, that’s the problem. I was hesitant to watch “Guru” because it has Aish on lead role. Anyway, I watched it and she has a small role, so that’s fine. And also, she looked so tired and old in the movie. Don’t know why. Abhi’s acting was really good, unexpected. Movie is okay.

Coming to Jo and Surya, same thing. I was never really impressed with Jo’s acting. But she is bubbly and sunny. So, its good to watch her in movies. But I cannot honestly see Jo in serious movie and all. Even in “Swarnamukhi”, she tried her best to act, dance and all and it was impressive, but for me it was funny most of the time to look at Jo in such a serious role. She is just made for sunny light roles, that’s just my opinion. Now she got married and sits at home. She says that this is what she wants. Maybe. But what a waste.

Why she has to sit at home? Why cant she act atleast now and then, when she feels like?

Surya’s family is trying to preserve the culture, it looks like. I like Surya, but honestly now I cannot think about him without a slight distaste. Whats with forcing your wife to do what your family wants. Loving somebody and marrying the same person and living with them life long is good and all. But doesn’t mean you have to lose your identity to get that. Whatever Jo says, its tough to believe that this is what she really wants. I read somewhere that Jo writes as well. Hopefully she will pursue her other interests and be happy with it. Now Surya gets out happily working and Jo is at home. Hurrah, Surya can go home to his lovely wife every day. Long live happy marriages.

I dint want to write about this for so long because it’s criticizing someone’s personal choice. But I came to a conclusion, its just telling my views with some well known examples. And I am sure Jo or Aish wont read this, so its okay

Shalini and Ajit. Another waste of talent.

Shalini is not good looking or sexy, but she has amazing talent. Acting is so very natural to her. I have no idea why she left acting and chose to be a home maker. When someone asked Ajit that why Shalini stopped acting, he said “ Now she has Homemaker role. So no need for other roles”, something like that. I don’t know what Ajit really meant, but it was a cent percent chauvinistic answer, according to me.

Well, there we go. These actresses say its their choice. So lets believe its their choice and that they are truly happy. If they are forced to leave acting for their love & marriage, what can I say. I just hope there will be a day, when women do what they want to do, without sacrificing much.

Or, I am just biased. Well, there are lots of people out there writing with unbiased views.

Let me be biased and write about what matters to me most.
